Where to start

By Ski Instructor

Where to start is a question for me as much as you…

The blog starts here, quite where it will go (if anywhere) remains to be seen.

Initially at least, the idea is to make a record of the time I am about to spend training to be a ski instructor.

Hopefully I’ll get a bit of feedback (some encouragement and/or advice would be nice).

    Andy,
This is fantastic. Please give as many details as possible including costs, locations, names of instructors, techniques etc etc.
I have just come back from the good old ‘Percy the Eagle’ in Tignes with the Ski Club. Stuart Adamson, Darren (Turner) and Olly were all there. I think you remember them
    Good luck!
    Roderick

    Mr W!
Good to hear from you…and this instructor lark sounds like a right blast (beats Oracle hands down). I’ll be watching your progress with interest. We’re off to Val d’Isere in a couple of weeks time, so we’ll do some scouting for ya!
    Cheers fella,

    Andy

The old team are routing for you. “Go Girl” as Libs would say. You know DG will always have you back but we think you’ll succeed – you better as I want to come Skiing.

Not found a replacement badminton partner yet though!!

It’s a start at least! Are you in Meribel yet?

FWIW your fitness advice prior to our Christmas trip to Passo Tonale was spot on : my legs of steel were more than up for the week. Yes, we skiied every day and just about all of the runs were open :-)

The Haruki Murikami was also a great bit of advice. I went for Kafka on the Shore which I’m about 2/3 through and it is awesome. Thx mate.

Suggestions? How about some pix/html enabled comments/emoticons/links? And a spell checker for Mr New ;-)

It’s nice to hear from you!

We didn’t know you wanted to be a ski instructor, though I knew you love skiing.
Give us some details such as where and when.
Unfortunately, it is a bad year for snow in Spain. We could hardly ski this Christmas.
    Wish you all the best

Since I knackered my knee I realised fast skiing is for the young and foolish. Go for style and control for sheer pleasure. Enjoy, work hard
and make sure you don’t get better than me you lucky get !
And as for your speedy class mates, just make sure you fart whenever you’re in front of them !

  12. SCGB blue Says:

Oh poor old belly’s knackered knees (he should’ve stayed off those icy Sheffield slag heaps)…. and you’re better than him anyway so what’s he on about.

Anyway ski-ace where’s today’s blog, it’s almost 6 oclock in France and I’m waiting for some feedback on todays fun & games. Hurry up!

Poor old Fella – are they not making any allowances for your geriatric bones… I told you the only thing a ski instructor needed to know was “snow plough”… Bren
