You are doing what is known as skidded turns where you sort of brake after each transition (heel side or toe side). It takes practice, but once you learn to carve (always on an edge and never sliding or skidding downhill) you will no longer fear the waves of snow as you slice right through them. You can tell a carve from a skidded turn by examining the snow after. A really thin line means that you are carving (with the edge) while a hill that has snow kind of scraped downhill will be a skidding turn. Good Luck!

I've got plenty of interesting blog entry titles spare if you want some.

Did you deck them then?

I don't pinch beer - I'm more of a coffee man myself (allegedly)

I came close enough to make it worth re-sitting the part I failed - after I've improved those aspects of my skiing of course - and it has been fun !

It snow joke - I really do boarding. I'm even enjoying it, though I don't think it will ever supplant skiing.
Warm ? It's roasting here and everything below the Altiport is mush by mid-afternoon.
I'm flying back to England on the 6th (although I won't be home for a while) so sadly I won't rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous (or Libs and Tom ;-) ) in Davos.
Hope the snow holds up for you guys.

Mr W!
Sorry to hear that after all your efforts you didn't get the result you wanted... :o(
But very pleased to hear you strapped on a board and gave it another shot! Colin's right - it's the number one sport on the snow :o)
Tom and I head off to Davos, Switzerland on the 7th for another week (fingers crossed the snow holds!) this time learning more about carving, off pisting and best of all, the snowpark! Maybe you could get over to us for a day and join us on the half-pipe...??
Have loved reading your blog each day and hearing your tales..
Take care,
Libs x
